Transgender certificate or pension

First get the transgender identity certificate from the District Magistrate, then apply for the state pension benefit.

Who is responsible

  • District Collector / District MagistrateHeads district administration; approves land use conversion, decides public land encroachment matters and chairs the District Revenue Council.
  • Social Welfare Department, BiharState social security pensions, disability certification support and welfare scheme delivery outside the SC/ST and backward-class departments.

The identity certificate is issued by the District Magistrate and is the precondition for every transgender-specific benefit, including the state pension. An application is made with Aadhaar and an affidavit, the certificate is issued after verification, and the pension application is then filed with the certificate attached.

Important condition: The pension criteria include the certificate and differ from the criteria for other pensions, so apply for the transgender-specific one rather than a general one.
