Roads and transport
Damaged roads, road classification and street-level transport problems.
- Broken or damaged roadPotholes, broken stretches or a damaged road — who maintains it depends on the road's classification.
- Sanctioned road not built or not completedA road that was sanctioned or promised has not been built, or the built length is much shorter than the sanctioned length.
- Road blocked or encroachedA road or street is blocked by an illegal structure, parked vehicles or material dumps; the road agency or the local body clears it.
- Missing or broken bridge or culvertA culvert or small bridge is missing, collapsed or too narrow, cutting off a village or farm; RWD handles small structures, RCD larger bridges.
- Missing speed breaker, signboard or dividerA crossing, curve or school zone has no speed breaker, signboard or divider, and accidents have occurred; the road agency installs them.
- Street light not working or not installedA street light is dark, broken, flickering or has not been installed; the local body (urban) or Gram Panchayat (rural) owns the poles.
- Bus service absent or route discontinuedThere is no bus on a route, a route was discontinued, or a bus does not come as notified; this is a transport department and depot matter.
- Auto or e-rickshaw overcharging or meter disputeAn auto-rickshaw or e-rickshaw driver is overcharging, refusing the meter, or arguing about the fare; transport department or traffic police can act.
- Driving licence, RC, permit or fitness problemGetting or renewing a driving licence, registering a vehicle, or getting a permit or fitness certificate; handled at the transport office / Parivahan.
- Traffic challan or wrong fineAn e-challan you did not commit, a wrong amount, or a dispute about a parking fine; the traffic police / transport challan portal handles it.
- Road not cleaned or dust not suppressedA road is never swept, has no water sprinkling, or garbage is swept to the roadside; the road agency or local body is responsible for sweeping.
