Who is responsible
A traffic challan in Bihar is issued for a contravention observed on the road or through a camera. If the challan is not yours, or the amount appears wrong, the challan can be disputed with the traffic police concerned or through the virtual court, and the camera proof is examined before the challan is cancelled.
Important condition: Payment of a disputed challan is not advised until it is decided, but challans left unpaid attract additional penalty under the motor vehicle law; keep the challan copy and the dispute receipt.
